recently, i began to play w/ letterpress. speaking of being typecast. to hold the alphabet in your hands & know it is poison. don't touch your eyes. or pick your nose. if you suck your thumb don't swallow.

gratitude to Melissa Johnson of Blackbird Arts, artist Chad Pastonik of Deep Woods Press for tutelage, and David Griffith and Interlochen Center for the Arts for funding.

this poem was first published in The Journal, Issue 41.1, Winter 2016/2017 (more gratitude to Jacob Bauer).  i wanted the two sides of the poem to be like lovers hugging the far sides of a bed.  it was lovely to play with this small poem in my first real letterpress composition.
